Our Nurses
At Cowra Veterinary Centre our fully qualified staff are committed to providing you with the highest standards in veterinary care to keep the animal in your life healthy.
Tara Wallace
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Tara joined Cowra Veterinary Centre in 2017 after moving from Sydney to Koorawatha for a tree change. Tara spent many years working at the University of Sydney Vet Hospital in Camden and has experience in both equine and small animal nursing.
In her spare time, Tara rides her horses. Her partner Blake is a farrier by profession so obviously they both love their horses! Tara also has a cattle dog named Rory, a Jack Russell named Harvey and cat named Flea.
Sheena Dawson
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Sheena joined our team in 2019 after moving from Newcastle to the Central West. Sheena spends most of her time on reception and helps out with puppy preschool. Sheena used to commute from Parkes every day but has moved a bit closer, now living in Eugowra with husband Josh.
Sheena’s pets come in all shapes and sizes from lorikeets to cats to cattle dogs. She also keeps herself busy learning and playing multiple sports and even has a second job at BP to fill in her days off.
Sheena and Josh welcomed baby Casey in June 2022 but after a few months of maternity leave, Sheena is now back working in our Canowindra clinic on Mondays and in Cowra on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Kate Stewart
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Kate joined the Cowra Veterinary Centre team in March 2023. Coming from a farming background near Temora, Kate is comfortable with animals of all shapes and sizes.
Kate has a number of fur babies at home and is always on the lookout for rescue animals to foster.
Kate particularly enjoys surgical nursing but is happy to turn her hand to whatever needs doing. Please say "Hi" to Kate and make her feel welcome in Cowra!
Kristy Price
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Kristy joined Cowra Veterinary Centre in 2018 with a wealth of experience in emergency veterinary nursing, most recently at an after hours hospital in Canberra.
Kristy lives in the Bumbaldry bush and is a carer for all sorts of wildlife, with wombats being a particular favourite. You are most likely to come across Kristy on Fridays and Saturdays or if you come in for an after hours emergency.
Jacqui Langfield
B. Systems Ag (Equine)
Jacqui joined our team in late 2020 as a second receptionist. Jacqui grew up at Murrumbateman and moved to Cowra 20 years ago to manage the Bamborough Pony Stud.
She has an extensive background in all things equine and runs her own pony-stock horse stud. Jacqui has also worked at Pepper Tree Equine Clinic and Cowra Meat Processors.
She and Ted are the proud parents of a very busy girl Sarah who keeps them on their toes.
Sarah Knowles
Reception
Sarah joined Cowra Veterinary Centre in January 2022 making the drive from Grenfell every day (where everyone knows Sarah!). Sarah works in Reception keeping our clinic running to schedule – Sarah started on 3 days a week but you will see her here pretty much every day now.
Sarah loves her horses and has an unusual dog breed at home – a basset hound named Peanut – as well as a couple of cats. She is also very dedicated to her daily coffee fix.
Janet Everingham
Reception
After moving to Cowra and being a client for a few years, Janet joined the team at Cowra Veterinary Centre in September 2022.
You’ll find Janet on Reception on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and also at our Canowindra branch clinic on Wednesdays.
Janet and her husband Shane breed, show and train stockhorses and also breed border collies which somehow are always spotlessly clean!
Tilly Porter
Trainee – studying Certificate II in Animal Care
Tilly just loves animals of all shapes and sizes so jumped at the chance to come and help us out on Saturday mornings.
Tilly is combining her TAFE studies with high school by starting a school based apprenticeship with Cowra Vet Centre so she now spends Wednesdays with us as well as Thursdays and Fridays after school. Tilly hopes to continue her studies until we have another qualified vet nurse on our team – it won’t take long!
Ashleigh Leibick
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Ash joined us in July 2023 as a surgical nurse but you will also find her on reception. Ash used to work at an equine vet clinic and is obviously keen on horses being very involved in the Grenfell pony club and the Weddin Muster. Add in 2 busy kids and commuting from Grenfell and it’s a miracle that Ash stays as relaxed as she is!
